Kwan Jung

Artist and Restauranteur:

Local connoisseurs of fine Chinese food must have visited the former Limehouse Restaurant in Pacific Beach. It was a popular Chinese restaurant owned by Mr. and Mrs. Jung. Like fortune cookies, the best parts were hidden. Most casual patrons did not know that the owners were also nationally acclaimed artists. Now retired, the couple continues their love of artistic creations.

A graduate of the New Asia College in Hong Kong and postgraduate studies at San Diego State University, Mr. Jung has a wide repertoire of art styles. Mr. Jung's art works are included in at least 11 major collections throughout the United States.

Exposed to more modern western ideas, his paintings became more experimental and abstract. Mr. Jung's signature of dreamlike landscapes with tiny figures have been described as serene and calming.

He is a member of the American Watercolor Society and National Watercolor Society. He has received numerous awards and honors for his paintings.

For more information, you may contact Mr. Jung at (619) 453-5380.
